RAISED WAFFLES1 package dry yeast1/2 cup warm water (115 degrees) 2 cups warm whole milk 1 stick melted butter 1 tsp sugar 1 tsp salt 2 cups flour 2 large eggs 1/4 tsp baking soda sprinkle the yeast on the warm water, let stand 5 minutes. Add milk, butter, sugar, salt, and flour. Beat until smooth. Cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate overnight. Beat in the eggs and the baking soda. The batter will be very thin. Bake in a hot waffle iron using 1/2 cup batter for each waffle. Makes 8 waffles. |
